The Fine Print
While I can say with reasonable surety that the general meaning of the songs is largely accurate, given that 1) no language can be translated on a 1:1 basis with any other language, and 2) a requisite feature of the Japanese language (and what made me absolutely fall in love with it) is that what can be said indirectly will NEVER be said directly (unless you're furious, and sometimes...not even then) -- to some extent, these lyrics are my own interpretations of the finer details. YYMV, and I think that's okay! Variety is the spice of life, after all.
Also, total accuracy in these translations is not guaranteed; I am not a native Japanese speaker, merely a student of the language, and there will doubtless be the occasional error. I'm always willing and ready to expand my knowledge of Japanese, however, so corrections or tips will be accepted and appreciated greatly!

My translations are covered by a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence; in super layman's terms: if you'd like to use any of these translations on your own site, or in videos, or anything really, you need to credit me as the translator and link back to Across the Universe! While I didn't write any of the Japanese lyrics nor do I claim any rights to them, the translations are all my own and I work very hard on them, for no monetary recompense. Good translation requires a certain amount of artistry on top of one's basic skill within a language; please honour that artistry with a simple little link back if you use them! ♥ Thank you for understanding!
